Who we are |
Europa Design & Furniture was established is 1984. Whilst being a relatively young company, it's foundations were developed and elaborated in 1980 by it's founder. The idea was to create a collection of products called "The Classics of Modern Lamps". This collection included illustrative works created throughout the history of design that cannot be found in museum collections or in specialised publications.
In fact, throughout 1970s and 1980s the classic lamps were hardly known to the public and were very rarely published in lighting magazines.
Europa Design & Furniture's current collection originates from this basic idea which then unfolded over the years and today represents the biggest collection of classics produced and marketed by one sole company.
Without Europa Design and Furniture's passion, culture and detailed knowledge, it would not have been possible to successfully dedicate 25 years to the exclusive production of lamps and a objects conceived and designed by great artists from 1900 through to 1960. It therefore seems necessary to provide some useful information about the originality of the products.
UROPA DESIGN CONFIRMS OPERATIONS CARRIED ON IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITALIAN LAW
(Legislative Decree nbr 30/2005, "Code of Industrial Property", as amended by Law nbr 99/2009 dated July 23, 2009) art. 239-1 The protection awarded to designs and models by virtue of art. 2, n.10, law nbr 633 dated April 22, 1941, is not operating only towards those who, before the date of April 19, 2001, have commenced the production, the offering and the distribution of products realised in accordance with designs or models which had become of public domain. The activity in such case may be carried on within the limits of PREVIOUS USE. Production-, offering- and distribution-rights may not be transferred separately from the company.
